So you want to fish in a remote destination in the wild but don't know where to go or which guide service to use? Why don't you leave it to the team that knows the area the best? Official guides, those that are only licensed to fish with guests staying inside Yellowstone National Park or either Orvis endorsed.  Eyes on the Fly Guides in Montana and Wyoming are some of the best at what they do and understand how to make your day, week and month enjoyable in Big Sky country.  Here is our list of guides, guide services and resorts to look more into for your stay.

Hubbards Yellowstone Lodge ~ Paradise Valley, MT

Guide:  Eben Schaefer ~ Our go to resort and guide service when we need a upscale place for our guests to stay in Montana.  Eben not only is Orvis Endorsed but has access to a long list of guides at his resort that know how to catch fish.  Whether they are housing you, taking you fishing on their own private 85 acre lake stocked with enormous fish or being utilized as our extra guides for the day, Eben and his staff of professionals will take care of you and keep you coming back.

Chico Hot Springs Resort ~ Emigrant, MT ~ Not so much a place for fly fishing guides, but rather a really cool resort we would be fools not to mention.  This is a stop that is always on our radar no matter what and will be on yours if ever you visit the area again.  Located in Paradise Valley, Chico has all that you could want after a long day of fishing to rising trout.  Known for their award winning 5 star food and Sunday Brunches as well as their two hot spring pools that come in at a soothing 96 degrees, Chico very rarely leaves someone dissastisfied.  A great place for lodging and pool service food and drinks, Chico is usually the resting stop at the end of the day for our guests and guides.

Flying Pig Raft Company ~ Gardiner, MT ~ Located at the North gate of Yellowstone National Park in Gardiner, MT. Flying Pig Rafting Company has all that we need for a fun filled weekend near the park.  With daily rafting trips, and helpful fly fishing guides, Flying Pig Rafting Company is a one stop shop for a good time on your visit to Yellowstone National Park.  The Flying Pig holds the outfitter license for Yellowstone National Park and is allowed to take guests inside of the park to fish either on one of the many lakes or rivers within the system.

Xanterra Parks & Resorts ~ Yellowstone National Park, WY & MT ~ Xanterra is the group that actually owns the vendor license for the park and can help us with accommodations inside the park at one of the 7 lodges or campgrounds as well as fishing, horseback riding and summer and winter tours.  Places like Old Faithful Inn and Lake Hotel, the two most historic lodges inside YNP, are places where Xanterra can help us book our reservations.  Xanterra holds the only license for fishing that can legally pick up a guest at one of the resorts inside park boundaries and take them fishing.  They have access to all creeks, streams, rivers and lakes and can help us set up our Yellowstone Lake fishing trips by boat to seek big Yellowstone Cutthroat and Lake Trout.

Guide:  Eric Lane ~ Eric and Eyes on the Fly have been fishing together for nearly 5 years now and there isn't a more knowledgeable guide in the park when it comes to history, fishing and wildlife.  As a snow coach driver in the winter and a Yellowstone Lake fishing guide in the summer, Eric brings with him a wealth of experience, a great attitude and ability to catch fish all day long.
